Everybody’s on a pretty good roll in the villa. Meals are met with enthusiasm and very little is left over at the end (much to staff dog Khola’s dismay – she gets the kitten leftovers). Although weight gains are up and down, the downs usually come after big gains the day before, which is a pattern we see a lot and don’t worry about.

We’re still giving Molina a bottle a couple of times a day, just to give her that extra oomph, but she’s posted some sizable clicks on the scale in the last couple of days. She’s also learned to jump the baby gate in anticipation of her bottle. Who would have guessed that she’d be the first in her litter to reach that milestone?

When it’s play time, there is a lot of racing around and wrestling. But when the Sluggers are sleepy, they definitely like to be curled up in our laps...even Cruz, who is the most active and least cuddly of the group. And none of them (especially Albert) is afraid to let you know that they want to be picked up and petted. He’ll stand at your feet and whine loudly!

Now it’s just bulk-up time. We hope that there are a couple of families out there who are putting off getting kittens until after the busy holidays, and that when they start their search in January, the Sluggers will be ready to go!
