Polly and the Drifters have eddied out of the current and are doing well in the villa. We’ve had some weight loss and sloppy poop in the last couple of days, though, so we started everybody on some meds to get the trend reversed.

Caspian is now heavier than Hannay! Of course, with all his fluffiness, he looks much bigger than he is. It looks like his belly is dragging the ground, but it’s just fur. He’s terribly photogenic.

I was determined to get a better pic of Hannay, who is so petite with such cute little markings. I love the little orange tip on her ear. She and Hudson are big climbers already – they can make it up to the second level of the cat tree, and Hudson can climb the futon by himself.

Polly is still generously letting them all nurse – Caspian follows her around and tries to reach up for a taste if she happens to pause. She’s very friendly and jumps into our laps as soon as we sit down. Hudson, too, is a big lap lover. Hannay is more interested in running around and playing.

I was watching Polly wrestle and chase Hannay this morning – very kitten-like – although when she caught Hannay, she would start to vigorously groom her, until Hannay pulled out of her grasp. Hannay not only looks like Polly, but she’s very vocal like Polly too – you’d never know that they aren’t actually mother-daughter.

We’ve gotten a few updates and photos from Hustle and Lupita’s mom, and they’re doing great. Eating her out of house and home apparently, and settling into the house easily. At first, they were a little nervous with having a lot of space (that they weren’t used to), and 7-year-old Sadie was taking it personally when they didn’t want to come out from under the couch to play. Her mom noted that it had already served as a life lesson! It looks like Hustle has settled right in as the office assistant, however.

And apparently, 5-year-old Jasper is sticking with Hustle’s name for the time being. I noted that both cats will probably have many nicknames over the course of their lives.

This will be my last post for awhile as I head off to Kampala later this week while Ted holds down the ranch.
