Out and Back

Sunday

Ted took the Angels to an adoption event yesterday. I stayed home to do some work. Unfortunately, the event was dead, even though he had advertised on Craigslist.

The girls are really ready to fly out of here. They are so active and playful – non-stop motion. Anybody who meets them is going to want them.

Yesterday, Farrah jumped the baby gate and two dogs made a beeline for her – fortunately, she wasn’t really nervous, and they were just curiously sniffing her. Then Ted realized what had happened, and he raised his voice, which got everybody ratcheted up a few levels.

Farrah took off with June on her (very puffed up) tail. I snatched her up and got a kitten bite in return, but everybody was fine. Ted admitted that keeping calm would have been the better approach, but it’s hard not to feel anxious about such interactions.

We were going to move Cassady down with the Angels, but he didn’t gain as much weight as we would like, so we kept him upstairs. He’s still a little skittish, but he’s made huge progress every day. We haven’t heard a hiss in quite a while, and he now comes to me in the bathroom waiting to be picked up and held. He’s SUCH a lover boy!

Fortunately, he tested negative for FeLV and FIV, so that’s a relief. We dewormed him and his fat hard belly disappeared – he must feel a lot better now! We’ll probably integrate him with the girls in the next couple of days.
