Henry came into the shelter as a solo kitten, and since we already had seven at home that were around his size, we agreed to bring him in and make it an even eight. Poor Henry – he was overwhelmed! He avoided the rest of the gang and wouldn't let us pick him up. We weren't sure if he was just freaked out or if he had been a rehabilitated feral cat, or both.

After several furtive days, he eventually joined into the fun and games with his foster siblings, and we enjoyed seeing him come out of his shell. He still didn't want us to handle him, which was something we needed to fix. Once you picked him up, he was fine (like many feral kittens), but good luck picking him up!

Again, in time, he came around, and, although he wasn't as outgoing as his foster siblings, he evolved into a happy, playful guy.
